APCAS Nursing Batch 2022 holds Capping, Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony

Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies’ Bachelor of Science in Nursing Batch 2022 held its Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony at Crown Plaza Hotel last August 23. This event symbolized a new chapter in the life of the student nurses, signifying the start of their hospital duty.
The ceremony started with a solemn mass with Rev. Fr. Ernie De Leon at St. Joseph Cathedral. After the mass, the ceremony program proper was followed at Crown Plaza Hotel. Capping and pinning candidates, parents, faculty and staff, the College President and distinguished guests joined together for the processional presented by Ms. Anjanette Layug, the Master of Ceremony. Mr. Jayvee F. Daracay, RN, Nursing Coordinator, applauded everyone with his evocative welcome remarks.
Mr. Romeo C. Tuazon JR., DrPH, RN, RM, FPCHA, Asst. Chief Nurse for Training of Bataan General Hospital, delivered his keynote address, reminding them the beauty and impact of the nursing profession. Also, Mrs. Flocerfida E. Ayangco, the College President, challenged them to be a significant nurse, rather a successful one.
The imposition of caps and pins was being led by the Dean of College of Nursing, Maria Elender C. Pulos, Man, the College President, Mrs. Flocerfida E. Ayangco, and the keynote speaker, Romeo C. Tuazon JR., DrPH, RN, RM, FPCHA. Mrs. Pulos also fronted the lighting of the lamps of the student nurses, while Janilene Caranzo, BSN II Dean’s Lister, led the Nightingale’s Pledge. Dr. Gigi D. Sunga, Dean of Academic Affairs, closed the program with a short but meaningful message.
